A cataract can form or develop when the protein of the eyes is accumulated. This leads to make the lens cloudy. Many factors are considered as the main causes that make the area in the lens cloudy, dense and hard. Most cataracts develop due to aging, injury that changes the tissue or another certain conditions. Age-related is the common cause of cataract. It forms when the patient gets older, so the proteins are clumped together to form an area in the lens ,over time, it may grow then it will be hard to see. As cataract can caused by getting older, Congenital is called when the babies born with cataract. This type may refer to a poor development in the womb or it can caused by infection. Moreover, it can be formed within the first year of their life. …show more content…
Traumatic is a way of forming a cataract due to injury of the eye. This happens mostly with people who are play any kind of sports, because they might get hit with a ball or any other things that injure the eyes. In addition, this type of forming a cataract may develop years after the eye injury. A cataract is also caused either by medications or by diseases.
