I had landed right in front of my sister, who was also skiing down the cat-track. She had not time to react or make a choice. Her only choice was to run into me. I didn’t even see her coming. She screamed loudly and she ran right into my left shoulder with both of her skis. She tumbled over me, landed on the ground and hit her head. I felt like the heaviest freight train in the world just ran into me. I couldn’t move at all. As soon as the snowboarder saw the disaster he caused, he quickly and quietly got up, jumped on his snowboard and took off down the cat-track never to be seen again. In the meantime, other skiers and snowboarders were swerving to avoid my sister and me. Our instructor took off her skis and placed them in an “X” on the cat-track to warn other skiers. By this time my parents arrived on the scene. Other snowboarders from our ski school also stopped to help. My sister had a slight headache and my shoulder was bruised. I didn’t want to ski anymore. My mom came to me and asked, “Hayley are ok”? I had to reply, “No, I’m in a lot of pain”. My mom asked, “Hayley, would you like to take the gondola down?” I replied, “Yes!” I felt like I couldn’t move, or ski anymore. My instructor wanted me to finish ski week on a good note and she thought I should ski down the mountain.
