The Castle Eve was in a state of uneasy quiet, the usual sounds of mischievous twins and non-binary London Nymphs did not ring clear through the stone walls. Not even his synth could be heard in the silence, and Dulcimar automatically knew that this was something peculiar. The afternoon light streamed in from the windows, and he'd felt as if he hadn't slept in days. Like he had been constantly on edge and that worry lines were already starting to set in, in though he had not yet even reached the age of a teenager. He rolled from his bed, wincing as his bare feet touched the stone floor. His room was bare, absent of the handprints of color from when he and Cado had tried to 'paint' it when he moved in. He felt the awful feeling in his gut, looking to the door as three similar knocks resounded at his door.

"Dulcimar?" Came the voice of Professor Jax from behind the door. But it garbled, as if Dulcimar had been listening to him from underwater.

He did not remember knocking, but Professor Jax opened the door anyways. From what he had remembered from the very few times he had been in Jax's study, Professor Jax liked to keep the sun streaming in, and even at night, the place would be filled with candles and BLU lights. But now it was completely dark, not even cracks of sunlight reaching the room. Dulcimar shrugged more into his sweater, looking around the room curiously as Professor Jax locked the door. "Professor, it's a little dark in here." the boy mused, clearing his throat. "Your lesson today shall require minimal light, as you shall be pulling it form inside you instead, sit please, Dulcimar." the Professor said, taking his seat from behind the desk, with only the small light of several candles allowing Dulcimar to see. When he went to sit in the seat across of his Professor, the man shook his head and pat his lap, Dulcimar bit his lip and obeyed, uneasily sliding into the Professor's
