We are heading to some old castle to stay in and role play as if we were living in the Victorian era. I just hope I get to be Royalty and not a maid.

Around another two hours the bus drove up a dirt track, by this stage it was pitch black the only thing lighting the way was the headlights of the bus, the stars and moon.

The whole journey here I had taken pictures of the scenery and breath-taking views. It was in the middle of nowhere somewhere in the countryside at the top of Scotland.

As we travel more and more up the dirt track the silhouette of the castle dominate the sky line.

Outside the hefty metal doors, statues of kings are lined up outside of the castle gates, serving as reminders of the past. This castle has clearly been around for at least a thousand years, but it doesn't seem like it will collapse any time soon.

As the bus stopped to a halt the night was an eerie silence apart from the occasional sound of someone breathing.

Without warning the lights turned on, making everyone erupt in groans as they start whining about being woke up. Once everyone was up and grumpy we were being lectured about the history of the castle, no one really was

paying attention as all they want is to go to bed.

"Everyone once you get your bags you will follow behind me into the castle before us. Then we will go ahead to get into the groups and go to bed. Any questions?" Mrs.Quake is already suited for this life she acts as if she is royalty I just hope she gets to be a chamber maid or something.

The bus slowly got unloaded with groggy people and luggage. Before we had to walk to this castle.

"Everyone who had phones put them into this box now, it will help you get into the mindset quicker." She spoke up

He came upon them as he turned a crook in the coast line; and his first thought was that he had come upon a village, for there were many lights. But as he forged along he saw to his great astonishment that all the lights were in one enormous building--a lofty structure with pointed towers plunging upward into the gloom. His eyes made out the shadowy outlines of a palatial chateau; it was set on a high bluff, and on three sides of it cliffs dived down to where the sea licked greedy lips in the shadows.’”…

The neighborhood was noiseless, and the sky was pitch black, for there had been no moon on that summer morning in June. My mother and father started our car and waited for Sofia,my sister, sean ,my friend, and me to get inside. It was time to leave our dull suburban home in San Jose, and drive to the beloved National Park, Yosemite, to hike Half Dome. On the car ride there I had slept, but awoke right when we had gotten into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Looking outside of the window and noticing all of the evergreen trees was surreal for me, as I rolled down my window a strong smell of pine and fresh air poured into the car.…

The ground was soft but not mud, purple and yellow and orange flowers bloomed on the sides of the path, birds chirped, why the were we not at the moontower? Eventually we were spit out of the dirt path to a wide open dirt parking lot. Nothing was parked there, but a trail led to a tunnel through a rock. We walked along.…

The Triumph of the Value of Human Life Over the Value of Money: The Luxurious Impregnability of Concentric Castles vs. The Affordability of Old Castles One of the most frightening things is to be woken up by the dreadful noises of frantic screams of desperate people and the horrific smells of burning wood and flesh; to frantically run through the suffocating smoke and, just about when you reach the outside and think you are safe, to watch your castle, your home, your protective fortress disappear in front of your eyes, engulfed in flames. This was a common situation that those living in a wooden medieval castle had to face. This could be a gorey scene from a horror movie; however, for medieval kings and lords, this was their reality that…
