In the play, Othello, by William Shakespeare, Othello is a character who has an eminent reputation. He is respected by a plethora of people and has great leadership abilities. Othello is manipulated by Iago to turn against his trusted lieutenant and murder his beloved Desdemona because of the twisted lies Iago told and the handkerchief incident.
