I am reading City of Bones an action and adventure novel by Cassandra Clare. There are 496 pages in this book. Stephenie Meyer author of “Twilight” said “The Mortal Instrument series is a story world I would love to live in.” I believe that this book is for advanced readers and young adult ages because there are adult situations and some language that may be inappropriate for younger readers. The protagonists are Jace and Clary. Jace is very Strong and sometimes can be sarcastic and stubborn, but is actually a very protective and trustworthy person. He was born a shadow hunter and is very skilled at what he does. Clary is very strong hearted and persistent even when she is thrown into a whole new world. City of Bones takes place in modern day New York. …show more content…
But no one else seemed to see it. Then again she sees one of the boys that was in the club. He is a shadowhunter. Suddenly when Clary goes home her mom is missing and her house is torn apart. She goes with Jace to the shadow hunter institute. While being there Clary and Jace slowly fall in love, and one time they even kiss. Clary finds out her mother was a shadow hunter and hid the Mortal Cup from her previous husband Valentine( the villain in this story) who is Clary’s father. When Clary finds the cup, it is taken by Valentine and Jace with it. Then when Clary finds Jace he says Valentine is his father meaning Jace and Clary are brother and sister. But Valentine escapes with the cup. That is how the book ends. City of Bones has also been made into a movie. There are some big differences between the book and the Movie. The battle at the end when Valentine escapes with the Mortal Cup many things change. The location of the battle changes and the fighting is over exadurated. But other then that the movie and the book are mostly the

The Mortal Instruments was named after multiple important items throughout the series. “The Angel gave three items to the first Shadowhunters. A cup, a sword, and a mirror” (Page 234). The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) Movie Review The Bride of Frankenstein by James Whale was a very interesting take on the classic story. It continues with the original story of the Monster and his maker Frankenstein, with similar themes as the first installment. The biggest theme that it centralizes around, is the idea that the monster needs a friend, or mate as the title might give away, a bride. In this movie, the monster got his wish, and more.…

The book “City of Glass” written by Cassandra Clare, takes place in a mythological world where two characters, brother and sister, named Jace and Clary, struggle to hold in their true feelings of love with each other. While this happens they face different challenges with not only each other, but their family. As conflicts stir with their father when he tries to take over the Shadowhunter world, Clary and Jace have to figure out how to stop him. The main idea of love runs through the entire story, and one main theme of the story explains that love can bring out the best and worst of people: after you realize you love someone, you can’t always keep your emotions in, and sometimes you become selfish and untrustworthy, but it was for the sake…

In Cassandra Clare’s novel series The Mortal Instruments and other related series, there are many references to other religions mythologies. The main question that is asked refers to the number of mythologies that she uses without the readers realizing it until her books are re-read or researched further. Before things get too out of hand, I believe that we should go into the history of the Nephilim and their relatable mythology with other cultures. One of the most common angels mentioned in Clare’s novels in Nephilim’s history and mythology is one of the angels, Raziel.…

Time is the key to everything in life. It shows that a fictional story can come from anyone, no matter what age they are or what time period they come from. It also shows that there is a big difference in the works coming from an author of the victorian era and works coming from an author of the Modern era. Proof of this are the lives of both Victorian author, Charles Dickens, and Modern writer, Cassandra Clare. Charles Dickens, who was an English writer and social critic, was born on February 7, 1812 in Portsmouth, England.…
