On August 4th, 1959 Cassandra was born into a family of 6 boys. She grew up playing outside with her brothers and running around her neighborhood. Living on a farm, Cassie was also familiar with animals such as horses and cows which she was very fascinated with as a child. As a young girl, Cassie always knew she was different from the other girls at school. She would much rather play in the mud than play dress up. She first found her love of bull riding at the young age of seven years old. Near where she lived in Texas, there was a bull riding arena offering lessons. All alone in the barn Cassie confidently scaled the mechanical bull wearing her lucky riding boots. All was going well until something went terribly wrong with the machine. Cassie was then catapulted into a wooden beam and was immediately knocked out. Luckily, her nifty boots was catapulted too, but through a window. Her mother heard the loud commotion from across the house and ran outside to find one meer boot on her front porch. Becky recognized the boot very easily but was confused on how it got there. Knowing that Cassie was in the barn practicing, her mother went to check on her where she would find her knocked out cold. Cassie was then rushed to the hospital. She later found out she had a broken rib and both of her legs were broken. Her beloved rodeo sport would be put on hold for three years. Being the determined, strong willed woman she is, she defied all odds and continued
