Although I do believe that Casey Anthony was involved in the murder of her child, I'm not sure if she actually killed her daughter. One of the main reasons for this belief, is that Anthony’s statements are riddled with lies and discrepancies. For instance on June 9, 2008 Casey claims that her daughter, Caylee, has gone missing. Later on she states that she dropped Caylee off with the babysitter, that didn't exist. She also lied about her employment at Universal Studios. What reason would she have to spread all these lies, if she was not somehow involved? I believe that her involvement including the attempt to cover up Caylee’s death. If you believe that Casey used her computer and that George lied about his whereabouts of his daughter, that means he could have lied about the sexual abuse that Casey’s defense team cited as an explanation for her actions during the month that Caylee was missing. A FOX article states that the abuse started when Casey was 8 and tapered off when she was 11 (Ablow, 2012), which George denied. Another lie that George could have performed was when he denied his affair with Krystal Holloway and what she said on stand. Krystal Holloway “was a volunteer who testified that George Anthony had an affair with her and once told her that “what happened to Caylee was an accident that snowballed out of control” (Hayes, 2011). Another detail about the case which leads me to question the parents’ involvement in Caylee’s death is the testimony about the items found with Caylee’s remains. The items found include a blanket, a laundry bag, and parts of a T-shirt. The reason why these items make me question George and Cindy Anthony’s involvement is because prosecutors stated that only Casey Anthony had access to all these items. However, they also stated that all of the items could have been found in the Anthony’s home (prior to Caylee’s death); this means that Casey’s parents could have also had access to the items (Hayes, 2011).
