travels to the airport, and he leaves on an American Airlines flight to Chicago.” (O.J. Simpson Trial: Night of the Murders Timeline, 2007) The contrast in these cases is that Casey Anthony was said to be carefree throughout the month that her two year old daughter Caylee went missing and Casey had nothing to occupy her time with, so she could have well as likely be a good candidate as the murder, while with OJ Simpson, they looked at him as always being a busy man, who on the very same night as the double murder, was still on the move, although claiming he overslept. This made him less of a candidate to the double murder on the night of June 12, 1994.

Casey was described to jurors as the same happy, party going, fun, energetic Casey they all knew and loved. This was proven by the pictures taken off of her Facebook account and others that were taken into court as evidence. For a person who possibly had the slightest knowledge of her daughter’s disappearance, Casey showed no remorse, depression, social withdrawing, shyness, nor guilt in that one month period. To seal the deal that concerns her being carefree at that time, the ‘Bella Vita’ tattoo can used as one of many other evidence. The ethical dilemma of having reporting the crime a month or at least a few weeks earlier, was posed upon Casey at the time of the disappearance. Instead of filing a report that the nanny, Zanny, had stolen kidnapped her child when she supposedly found out, she instead covered up her tracks by leaving behind all factors that may have been linked to both Casey and Caylee, such as, moving out of her parent’s home and leaving behind her car in a parking lot for some period of time. In both cases, the defense teams faced the ethical dilemma of choosing to defend these cases, even if this meant defending a possible murderer and helping to set them free. The moral judgement of the juror was questioned and doubted based on the verdict after being presented with overwhelming evidence by the public and officials. In the OJ Simpson case, officers who were in charge of certain areas of the crime scene were brought to the stand and questioned based on racial and contamination evidence. The defense attorneys tried their hardest to get these evidence and present them to the predominantly African-American jury. This made the court and criminal justice system question the discretion of the police officer who worked on the crime scene. There was certainly misconduct presented by OJ Simpson when he led police officers into a high speed chase

Historical Setting In a 1966 amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the federal government began providing financial aid to states that provided education for children with disabilities. The program evolved into the Education of the Handicapped Act (EHA) of 1970. For Gould this was the most surprising result of his research because he and his team expected strong prosecutorial cases to result in wrongful convictions since the evidence was compelling for the prosecutor to seek conviction but instead the study revealed the contrary. This led the team to look at weak defense counsel, poor explanation/presentation of forensic evidence, and police practices that could trigger the course of events spiraling out of control to a wrongful conviction because the weak prosecution case in turn is not adequately challenged by the defense attorney and the prosecution for one reason or the other may fail to disclose exculpatory evidence- a Brady violation (NIJ…
