The Protection Against Family Violence Act is a legislation used to speed up proactive process when people are being abused. The Act protects people who are or have been married to each other, are or have been an adult interdependent partner, live or lived together in an intimate relationship, have children together, and are children of anyone in the custody of any of the preceding categories. Alyssa and Ashton will be given immediate protection because Logan is trying to harm the two. An emergency protection order will allow Alyssa to get help as soon as possible. After dialing 911 police will arrive and request a protection order. If the police agree that the situation needs action, the protection order will be granted right away such as removing Logan from the premises. Separation is recognized as legal as soon as the spouses have stopped living together and don't intend to get back together again in the foreseeable future. However, they are still legally married. They would only be allowed to get a divorce if they can follow the three grounds of divorce. The three legal path is if they can work out a separation agreement, if there is desertion or adultery and if they can file claims for support and/or custody of any kids they might have. Separation agreement is a contract made between separated spouses outlining such things as the division of property and mutual obligation. Desertion is the physical absence of one spouse with the intention not to return. Adultery is the voluntary sexual relations between a married person and someone other than that person’s spouse. If Mr. and Mrs. Sanders only wish to live separately, they should get separated.
