Dogs getting bored is an unusuall phenomenon. But, there is nothing to get surprised about it. Like humans, our pet dogs also need to keep themselves engaged all the time, so as to avoid boredom. Dogs are very active creatures & most of the time they are upto some sort of activities. However, as pet owners we can chanelize there energy into some sort of creative actions. When dogs get bored they tend to be desctructive by nature while looking for ways to entertain themselves. This often leads to excessive chewing, barking, digging the ground & other forms of mischevious behaviour.

It leads to improvements in his basic manners & impulse control. In the begining attach your dog's most loved toy to a long object. It must be big enough to drag around on the ground, while your dog chases & tugs on it. While playing this game their are some rules to be followed. First ask the dog to seat or lie down when starting the game. Then you have to tease him with the flirt pole by dragging it around while commanding your dog to stay & not to grab it, till you give the command to take it. Do this a couple of times & the pet dog will get familiar with the game.

Take your dog on errands
Taking our pet dog with us while we are going out can be great activity to kill their boredom. It gives them a chance to explore the world & also meet new people. We can take them for a quick car ride, or while visiting a friends house, or even to the grocerry store. Furthermore, when going on regular walks we can change the direction we take to surprise them & also provide them with an oppurtunity to explore new places. We can also take our pet dog for a small hike, or to the beach, or even can throw in a picnic as it will be a great way to bond & relax.
