Narrative Report About Vacation Bible School

Introduction Welcome to a Jungle River Adventure. Vacation Bible School with teenagers is always an adventure. It has been my experience that teenagers sometimes enjoy Bible School more than any other age group. Much of what teenagers get out of Vacation Bible School will be up to the teachers. Teens will be able to tell how much you have prepared. Also, they will be able to tell if you really care for them. Many teens do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. Let me encourage you to start praying right now for your students and the lessons. Without God, we can do nothing. Our greatest efforts will be in vain. Pray that your teaching will be clear enough for everyone to understand. Pray that these teens will trust …show more content…
Class time should be fun but there is no substitute for God’s Word. God’s Word will change your students’ lives and eternities. Make sure that you are very familiar with each lesson and able to teach in a way that will be interesting and instructive. Our theme is Jungle River Adventure. The subtitle is Ride the Current to God’s Perfect Plan. The series aim is that the student will learn from the life of Paul to seek God’s perfect plan for his life. Each of our lessons will be about the life of Paul and are found in the book of Acts. Churches are losing young people every year. Many graduate from High School, then seem to drop out of church and from serving Christ. Some seem to think that Christianity is boring and that Christians cannot have any fun. We learn from the life of Paul that Christianity is not always fun and that it can be filled with many hardships. Christianity, however, it’s never boring. There is nothing more exciting than trusting Christ as Savior and living for Him. The Christian life is not always fun but it is the most meaningful life a person can experience. The Christian life is filled with the joy of the Lord and depends on a person’s walk with Christ rather than on outward circumstances. Students need to be taught this through Scripture. Also, they need to see this in the life of believers. Make sure as a teacher that your students can see Christ in your attitude and

The interview on "The Remarkable Story of the Battle to Integrate Little Rock's Central High School,” was heartbreaking to watch. This interview is the hard to envision that a child had to endure such horrible treatment. There are a couple of things that really disturbed me about how President Dwight D. Eisenhower responded by sending in soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock's Central High School to make sure the 9 students would be able to integrate with the other students. My heart broke when Melba Pattillo Beals explained being 15 years old and having to run for her life because adults, wanted to hang her and they were actually chasing her and her mother. When she said for the first time in her life her mother slapped her…

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

This summer, my dad, older sister, and I flew to South Carolina for debate nationals. Since we had a few days before the tournament, we decided to do a little sightseeing. On Sunday, we visited two churches in Atlanta, Georgia. We first went to the Ebenezer Baptist Church, which is a church housed inside the “real” church that Martin Luther King Jr. had served in. The service was very lively, consisting of clapping, singing, and dancing.…

The Conservative and Charismatic Slavic Pentecostals This essay will compare and contrast the differences between the two types of Slavic Pentecosts. The Slavic Pentecostals are the same as any Pentecostals, Christians with a Protestant fundamental stressing direct inspiration by the Holy Spirit (“Pentecostal”), who speak a Slavic language. There are thousands and thousands of Slavic Pentecostal churches throughout America and every church varies as far as how religious it is which depends on its founders’ backgrounds. Many of these churches that are at the same level, religion-wise, are in fellowship with one-another or in the same brotherhood.…

The trip to a camping site in the middle of a Pennsylvania forest- a trip I would never forget- lead me to the discovery of myself and my transition into adulthood. This trip was through the summer camp I have attended for now eleven years; Liberty Lake Day Camp located in Columbus, New Jersey, is my second home. I grew up in this camp, and when I finally reached the age to become a L.I.T, a leader in training, I was eager to undergo the program with my friends I always attended camp with. This trip was a reward to all the hard work we do as L.I.Ts. Little did I know the annual L.I.T trip to the camping site would be life changing.…

These children had a hundred Salvation Bracelets from previous groups, and they knew what each bead meant before I could explain its meaning. So, how could we change our lesson to really benefit the children? When asked what are his goals for his youth ministry my old youth pastor, Mr. Beardsley, told me, “I want students to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Simply knowing about him is not enough, I want them to know him! To experience his presence and voice in their own lives and to recognize that they have a story to tell, a story that is a part of God’s story for mankind. As far as knowledge goes, I just want them to have an intimate knowledge of who he is, what he has done and how he calls them to live. There is a lot that goes into this knowledge, but that is really dependent on where they are at and how committed they are to learning.…
