Laura R. Shantz and Sylvie Frigon noted in their study that most non-profit groups- including the Elizabeth Fry Society-have limited means by which to make their facilities accessible. The authors discuss how older women may face mobility limitations and that for some women with physical disabilities, challenges such as winter weather may cause isolation and limit their access to resources. My Responsibility to America George Bernard Shaw once said, “We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility of our future,” I believe he meant that it is not enough to know where we came from or how we got here; we must actively expand to maintain and improve our quality of life. As Americans, I believe, we need to participate in all aspects of life, respect ideals and people, and obey all established laws. As Americans, one of our responsibilities to America is participation. Participation may include lots of things such as your community, politics, and even your school. Participating in your community might be as little as helping someone across the street, or as big as setting up a local event.…
