Many don’t realize that these efforts are often very impactful even at the individual level. With the desire for me to open up my own animal hospital for the hopes of offering wonderful and economical service, it is vital that my hospital is powered by environmentally sustainable efforts, not only to save money that I can use to help care for the animals in hospital, but to also ensure that I continue to put the welfare of not only my patients first, but the clients that care for them too. Animals have always been my passion and they live in the environment that humans are currently destroying. If efforts are not taken now, many animals will die and some species will go extinct. As a veterinarian, you take an oath to protect the welfare of animals, including the environment that houses them. When I first thought about my field of specialty, I had always thought that the veterinarians were the ones who took care of dogs and cats. Growing up in a suburban area where there wasn’t any farm related animals, it never occurred to me that they needed healthcare too. As I grew older and became more aware of the importance of a veterinarian in human health, I became more inspired to work with farm animals as well as large animals in the desire to assist in their conservation efforts. Although it didn’t necessarily change my career path, it changed my simple mind of what a veterinarian could do to benefit Earth allowing me to see the importance of what it is to be a veterinarian and have the ability to care for a multitude of animals ranging in different shapes and sizes, all with different needs for both themselves and the community at
