After driving through the big, confusing, dark neighborhood at night we found a house with a black plaque that said, ‘Welcome to the Jameson’s’ Jacob, Tyler, Ra’shawn, Andrew, and I walked to the back of the gray house. We were putting our black mask on with our black sweatpants and black jacket already on. We were about to walk from one side of the back to the other side when we spotted an innocent family of four sitting at a table happily eating dinner. My gang and I stopped so fast we almost collided. We army crawled through the dry September grass to the other side without getting caught. Andrew, the smallest, jumped through the…

She opened Spotify and clicked on Set It Off, she hit shuffle and handed one earphone to Jemma before putting an earphone in her own ear. The first song that played was Third Wheel. By the 1830s, the American people started to focus on innovations in some areas of transportation and politics. The Erie Canal’s creation allowed for items and viewpoints to be reached quicker to more places and people. New political parties allowed for new ideas and improvements to the American government system in hopes to include more people. All these innovations seemed as though they had the best intentions for all citizens, but that was not the case. Workers were cast off and not given their fair right to rise in ranks and receive proper credit in society. Citizens were made to believe that there would be equality and everyone would have a voice in government, but this was just false hope. The Jacksonian era of American politics and society…

The goal of Boys & Girls Clubs is: “to provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school, on time, with a plan for the future.” As a Club staff with little weight behind me to support this goal, it makes me a stone’s throw away from being labeled a hypocrite when I almost didn’t graduate from high school, let alone have a plan for the future.…

Among the evolving mindset of the 1900s population, the Methodist, Presbyterian and United Church would evolve as well. The adoption of the Canadian Standard Efficacy Training (CSET) and the Canadian Girls in Training (CGIT) educational techniques by the church, allowed for the churches modern-day transition to a masculine Christian and maternal feminist. To display this new educational tactic the church initiated boy’s clubs, The Trail Rangers and the Tuxis Boys, as well as a girl’s club. The boy’s clubs were developed to rival the scouting movement and maintain the churches congregation. Where the church’s boys’ club’s values were inconsistent with modern-day needs and struggled, its girls club adhered with the new coming maternal feminist movement making the club highly admired and a popular organization. The gender oriented clubs of the church display the changing gender roles of the new Century, allowing for…

Twelfth Night is a story that is written by William Shakespeare. Love is a major topic in the Twelfth Night because many major characters in the story fall in love with each other. In the story, the nature of love does not follow the guidelines of social class. Even though love does not follow these guidelines, the characters in the story still realize what social class they are associated in and it sometimes stops them from seeking out certain characters. There are a few love connections that do defy their social classes. A few examples of the characters that fit this type of love are Malvolio’s love for Olivia and Olivia’s love for Cesario. Another interesting aspect about the “Twelfth Night” is that the nature of love is both a pleasure…

A clique is just a group of people spending a lot of time together because they all have something in common. In high school, a person can walk down the halls and through the flood of students and see all kinds of cliques. Each clique has their own drama, their own way of doing things and, their own personality as a group. There are several different types of cliques too such as active cliques, creative cliques, and intelligent cliques. It is usually not very hard to determine what the common factor is in a clique, most of the time just looking at a clique can give it away. There are cliques because something brought all those people together, whether it was a type of music, a way of living or even bonding over the love they all share for a certain T.V. show.…
