Case Study: The Devil Wears Prada

The second case study that I am going to write about is a movie that is called “The Devil Wears Prada”. These is the movie that is going to be the base of my case study. The movie is going to support my ideas and provide examples to support them. By watching the movie I notice a lot of terms and theories that we study in my management class. My case study is going to be about: how different Andy and Miranda’s personality characteristics are, what the Andy’s experience with the job fit. What are the relationships between job attitudes, stress and behavior? Than how effective Miranda’s leadership was or was not. At the end, what is my suggestion is going to be, for a company who needs to increase the work motivation for the role that Andy is playing.
The personality characteristics that Andy and Miranda have are very different. First Andy as being the assistance of Miranda is very Conscientiousness and Agreeableness. Conscientiousness means that a person is organized, responsible, dependable, persistent, punctual, achievement- oriented and Agreeableness means nice, sensitive, cooperative, valuing harmony, trusting, kind, and warm.

For example, when the movie began Andy was very confused with the job that she is going to do and contently was asking questions and nobody was answering them. However; being organized and responsible she started to get the trucks that was happening in the Miranda’s company. She learned how to answer the phone even though no one was there to teach her. She knew how to deal with a boss like Miranda, because she was organized, responsible and dependable. She was very punctual even though she was out to work hours she was helping and trying to get a jet for Miranda to get from Florida to California. This show how Conscientiousness Andy
