The Channel Island was founded in 1980, also it compromises with 5 other islands Anacapa,Santa cruz,Santa Rosa,San Miguel, and Santa Barbara Island. The best time to visit the island is anytime you want because the Channel Island is located in the sunny part of Southern California. The climate there is about in the mid 60s and as low as in the 50s, the island mostly receive their precipitation between december and march, then spring also starts the warming trend toward summer although temperatures average the low 70s. Visitors have to be prepared for high winds,fog,rough seas,and sea spray at anytime given, the winds are generally calm in the morning and it will increase in the afternoon, the calmest winds appear through August and October,
