The report I have prepared will explain how the Canadian Cancer Society came under fire regarding their 2011 budget and the allocation of funds totaling more than a million dollars. The Canadian Cancer Society had to do damage control by giving an in depth financial report showing where donated funds were being allocated. This organization is one of the largest non-profit organizations in Canada and receives most of the countries donations. Because competition is so fierce in Canada, many organizations have large advertising campaigns to raise awareness regarding donations.
The Canadian Cancer Society has been accused of allocating a larger amount of the money donated to the organization other areas like advocacy, support, prevention, and information instead of focusing more of the money on research.

They will need to continue to give detailed information on how donated dollars being used; they can do this by directing donors to their website and having a page allocated to their financial statements. These statements will date back to the past ten years as well as a forecast for the next five years. The organization should also explain how they plan to stay true to their mission statement and how they are not only a research organization; their mission is to eradicate cancer and increase the quality of life for people who have cancer. It needs to made clear to society what the organization stands for.
