The outlines of the building instantly show the approach of experiential building design as well as the strong underlying concept. As the building would be seen from water, land and air, every angle had to be aesthetically pleasing. It was the architect’s wish that the building should invite interpretation and at the same time stimulate the imagination. It can be seen as a success that 3XN was able to keep within both the time and the financial frame. A major challenge was to design the interiors for the wellbeing of both fish and people, always considering that the building can’t steal all the attention from the exhibits.
