Improved Essays
The Banning Ranch houses coastal bluffs and wetlands spread over 400 acres of land. It is located in the area of West Newport Beach. The current project presumes creation of a mixed-use development. It will feature 1,375 houses and condominiums build in various architectural styles. In addition, the project presumes a 75-room hotel, as well as numerous stores (Save the New Port Banning Ranch, 2015). The 280 acres of space will be left for parks. The companies that pursue the project include oil companies and real estate investors. Opposing parties argue that the land plot should be cleaned up and returned it to its natural state. The purpose is to preserve the land as the last undeveloped patch of coastal sage.
