Tesla Motors Case Study Tesla Motors is a new ca manufacturer company that offers electric cars to customers. It is well known and appreciated by many people. Some people like the company, but some others do not. The company has been well stablished in the market; however, some financial specialists say the company is not. Therefore, to agree or disagree with them, it is crucial to focus on the its history, development, growth, external environment, SWOT analysis, corporate level strategy, business-level strategy, and do an analysis of the financial ratios.
Tesla Motors Company is almost new American company. Tesla is a public company and its NASDAQ stock exchange is TSLA (Liu, Kang, Wu, Chen & Hon, 2014). The founder of the company is Martin Eberhard, an engineer that wanted an environmentally friendly car, who conclude that the highest efficiency car would be a pure electric vehicle; he knew Al Cocconi (the original engineer for GM’s ill-fated EV-1), who had produced a car that run 60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds called tzero, and both started using lighter lithium ion batteries to offer six times energy pound to the car, and then Eberhard licensed the electric-drive-train technology from AC Population, and founded his company, Tesla Motors (Hill, Jones, & Schilling, 2014).
