The world of stem cells is extraordinary as they can differentiate into different types of cells and they come in different types of stages. stem cells can help with further treatments and research for cures. Embryonic stem cells which are the first stage of a stem cell are only around for a few days whilst in the embryo, then comes the adult cells in particularly mesenchymal stem cells that can be found in bone marrow or other particular tissue, muscle or the blood of an umbilical cord. there are many different types of neurological disease all which are truly horrible to live with and become such a burden on the person living with it. In the image on the lower right corner, you can distinguish that the nerve cells within the Sustantia Nigra have been destroyed as the crescent-shaped cell mass is not present. Whereas in the top right corner image you are able to clearly distinguish that crescent-shaped cell mass which contains nerve cells that contribute to body movements (Medlineplus, 2016).
The types of medication that are given to people who are living with Parkinson disease are usually to help with pain, discomfort and to help them increase their lifestyle by being able to exercise and have that control over their body movements. The most common prescribed medication is called Levodopa. Levodopa is the most effect drug on the market for people with Parkinson 's disease as it helps with controlling the main symptoms of bradykinesia which is the slowness of movement and rigidity movement. Levodopa is a dopamine replacement therapy drug which is usually taken orally and by itself, however, it can be in combination with another type of drug called Carbidopa (Drugs, 2010).
