We as health care workers need to watch for symptoms/signs, such as bruises, pain, itching, fungal/yeast infections, bald spots, unexplained burns, fractures, and lacerations. Abuse can come in many forms whether it is neglect, physical, sexual, or emotional, it is our job to protect the patient if we feel they are being abused.…

At times, inhabitants have been exploited, overlooked, and mishandled by nursing home staff. Further, there is worry that disregard and mishandle may be underreported in light of the fact that occupants expect that their consideration will be inconveniently influenced on the off chance that they voice their grievances (Kennedy, Bower, Reeves, Blakeman, Bowen, Chew-Graham & Lee, 2013). In this way, the checking of nursing homes is essentially vital. Then again, there have likewise been situations where inhabitants have manhandled nursing home staff both physically and verbally.…

An employer's job is to make sure all of their employees are protected and to provide a safe work environment. Janet's employer could have made reasonable accommodations to avoid environmental triggers of seizures such as installing anti-glare filters, reducing the brightness, or a training on how to handle someone who has seizures. Janet's collogues started to avoid her out of fear and lack of their knowledge of epilepsy. The employer should have conducted a training program or send out information on how to take care of someone who is suffering from medical conditions such as seizures right in front of them, without violating Janet's privacy. The lack of sensitivity training towards coworkers lead to the physician who is knowledgeable of epilepsy, to ask the administration to fire her.…

There are ethics committees in most hospitals now that are focused on the processing ethical issues and dilemmas that would be able to look over this situation and make decisions (Potter, Perry, Stockert, & Hall, 2017). This resource would be especially helpful because the it involves members from various backgrounds and various jobs to look over a situation and then come to a resolution. This committee also has the ability to take the resolution and go on to educate based on the issue (Potter, Perry, Stockert, & Hall, 2017). Another resource to utilize would be The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an agency that focuses on maintaining patient safety guidelines and they work directly with institutions.…
