This outraged many of them and decided to fight back for what they were owed. This was a very difficult period because it was a few weeks before Christmas and parents had no money to buy presents for their children. The workers decided to occupy the plant and not leave until they got what they deserved. This was a form of civil disobedience which was the approach they took towards the oppression. There are many resources that can be used to their advantage. For example, the media played a big role in both of these cases. It brought people together and support one another. When society comes together it becomes less individualistic and the power increases. If there is not enough support, the oppressed won’t have the power to influence society. Though these two forms of oppression had different approaches, they both succeeded. Women’s suffrage took way longer than the Workers’ Republic. From these approaches, the most effective was civil disobedience and protests. The workers got the benefits back and even their job. This got a lot of attention from the media which increases the support. The support pressured the company and the bank to release the real reason for the closure.
