I went to my interview with Dr. Helen Cox, and what she proposes for my internship is to develop a need assessment for the Porter Ranch Community.
They are interested in surveying the residents of Porter Ranch to understand what they require to feel safe in their properties, what they feel is a risk to their health and the environment, especially after the Porter Ranch gas leak.
The objective is to identify if the residents of Porter Ranch require services that CSUN can provide or coordinate. Among this Dr. Cox mentioned that maybe the residents feel that they should test their soils, indoor air, water, or they might require a more comprehensive communication strategy to fully understand the impact of the gas leak in the area
