Paul Jorgenson started with LGE on June 5, 1973. Originally from Dell Rapids, SD, Paul began his career as a haul truck operator down in the hole at the Dell Rapids East Quarry. When Paul started, his Father, Kenneth (Kenny), was the shovel operator and in 1978 was the Engineer to pilot the first train to Sioux City. Paul worked at many positions from haul truck operator to and from the plant, loader operator loading rail cars, plant foreman and material testing.

Paul is instrumental in making sure the Dell Rapids East and West quarries are producing aggregates at the highest level possible. Currently Paul performs quality control testing at the Dell Rapids quarries and at other LGE plants including Brookings, Ortonville and Summit. Paul plays an intricate part in the various screen arrangements and crushing configurations, making sure the plants are adjusted to the optimum production levels while producing quality aggregates within specification. Obtaining aggregate samples, seismograph measuring for blasting, material documentation and certification, production amperage and overall plant operation are the daily tasks that Paul is well experienced in.

Paul also enjoys taking an annual trip to Brainerd, MN to the NHRA Brainerd Nationals.
