Case Study: Outside Interests

In this scenario the inside interests are those who are involved at the college and will have a say about the development of the drug education program. Such people would include Susan, the other athletic trainers she talked with, the chairperson of the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, coaches, and possibly the local community foundation who is paying for the program. The outside interests are those whose interests are considered when developing a program. In this case the college’s athletes would be the number one outside interests but the community, NATA, NCAA, and different levels of government would also be considered outside interests. The program will affect the athletes because they’ll have to go through this program to learn
