Planned Parenthood collects 500 million dollars in funding per year. The organization should continue to receive financial assistance. Planned Parenthood provides affordable procedures and medical cares that families would not receive without it. Defunding Planned Parenthood would hinder access to health care. The group saves many lives yearly with their services. Sides for defunding Planned Parenthood claim people should not have their tax dollars go towards an organization that provides abortion services. But, Planned Parenthood focuses on other procedures, and they do not use their funding for abortions. There are many essential medical services Planned Parenthood provides for women. The organization plays a vital part in women's health and benefits women. For example, “42% of their patients were there for STI/STD screenings, 34% for contraceptives, and 11% of other woman services” (Jacobs). Without Planned Parenthood, there would be many women who would not receive these services. It would cause unawareness of important parts of women's health.
