Martin did in fact purchase the house approximately thirty-one years ago, but he has not visited it in over twenty years. North Carolina case law, such as Potts v. Burnette, 1981, has upheld the requirement for one to take possession of a property by means of adverse possession one must occupy the property openly and notoriously for twenty years (Potts v. Burnette, 1981).…

While yes in some states some can claim as a defense that they were truly unaware of her age, however in our text book states that a “defendant strictly liable even if he made a reasonable inquiry in good faith to determine the victim’s…

Consultants. To show our appreciation towards Jeremy N. Berman’s, a Findlay local prosthetist, help with instructing three class periods of the physical and occupational therapy prosthetic course, we would pay Berman for his volunteer time by paying him the average volunteer wage in Ohio. According to Independent Sector, the average wage for a volunteer’s time in Ohio, based on the hour, is approximately $22 (The Value of Volunteer Time, 2015). Therefore, for this grant we would need a total of $66 to pay Berman for his time helping the OT and PT students learn. The cost for the consultant is listed in Table 3 below.…

Error 1 Perhaps the most noticeable micro-level practice error displayed in the Gabriel Myers case can be seen in the case worker’s careless effort to provide informed consent for Gabriel’s medical treatment. According to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, “In instances when clients lack the capacity to provide informed consent, social workers should protect their clients’ interests by seeking permission from an appropriate third party, informing clients consistent with the clients’ level of understanding. In such instances, the third party acts in a manner consistent with clients’ wishes and interest” (Socialworkers.org, 2008).
