(1) What was the maternal “factor” hypothesized as relevant to understanding parent-child interactions among children with ADHD?

The maternal factors that were hypothesized as relevant to understanding parent-child interactions among children with ADHD were maternal responsiveness (mothers prompt behavior towards the child), maternal directiveness (commands or requests), maternal sensitivity, and maternal negativity (child’s negative behavior, lack of affection and rejection) in the study of the 136 mothers with their sons with ADHD were the basis of the study.
(2) Which participant subtype(s) of ADHD was/were included in the study?
Oppositional defiant (ODD), Conduct disorders (CD), hyperactivity, attention problems and impulsivity were the participant subtypes of ADHD that were included in the study. …show more content…
Maternal responsiveness behavior was one of the dimensions that was observed during the child-parenting interaction. It is more difficult for parents who has a child with ADHD to properly perform the responsive parenting abilities versus parents who has a child without ADHD. Responsive parenting entails that parents should direct and adapt their ability to their child needs& wants. That maybe, due to the parents own issues of depression of their child having ADHD might be the cause for the parents to be less responsive.
