There is a vast amount of research done on vaccines and there is still much to come. One of the most common threads in research for vaccines are vaccine effectiveness and side effects caused by vaccines. The reasons for this is mostly because despite there being proof verifying vaccine’s effectiveness, many people still have doubts about vaccinations. Some people think vaccines cause disastrous side effects. Others believe that vaccines are unnecessary and unreliable.
Many of these concerns are continuously studied to reduce peoples’ wariness of vaccines. One research topic has been the connection between autism and vaccines. While there was one study that did indeed prove, there was a connection between them, the study was …show more content…
Once people look at the benefit/ risk analyses they are likely to agree on being vaccinated and even recommend to others. With more people recommending vaccinations, especially on pediatric vaccine-preventable diseases, the less of a burden these diseases can be as they are a great problem in developing countries.
While implementing vaccines is difficult in developing countries, it’s even more so on adolescent girls. One of the main problems is reaching and maintaining follow-up with the adolescents. Joel Ladner studied various of other studies and found that school based models had a routinely vaccine coverage between 82.6% to 96.1 % in Peru, Uganda, Vietnam, and India. To improve this coverage, new strategies should consider absences and transfers of schools. However, the other programs tested in Ladner’s study were proven to have a positive impact despite their lower …show more content…
Laws should be made so that all students in school must have their vaccinations and have the school provide them through government funding. This will ensure that most children will be vaccinated. There should also be makeup dates for students who miss the days when vaccinations will happen. Not all children in developing countries can attend school so there should be an alternative for them as well. One would be having the low-income clinic properly supplied to give free vaccines to children. As for adults, they should also have vaccines, but at a low cost.
The clinic should also be improved in numerous ways. First, the training for the health care workers should be improved. As stated previously in the essay, misconduct is one of the reasons as to why people are getting bad side effects after getting vaccinated. (Rainey 2011) The current health care workers should go through retraining and should have a better attitude towards their patients. Good attitude towards patients is necessary because that may be the determining factor for some as to whether they should be vaccinated or not by the rude health care
