1.What did you find most interesting about the case?
The most interesting thing about this case was the fact that it was about grandparents raising grandchildren. For me when I think of family taking care of family it is more along the lines of a child taking care of a parent who is sick. It was interesting seeing this from a different view. While this was the most interesting aspect of the case, it was also interesting how little policies there are out there to help grandparents raising grandchildren in North Carolina. The Triplett family could have benefited from so many policies offered in other states such as preventative subsidized guardianship. There is no specific policy that offers grandparents raising grandchildren resources or money. Being the case manager for this family I expected this to be more of an individual and family case. The more I got involved with this case the more I realized this was so much more than just micro practice it was using both macro and micro to help this family.
2.Were there aspects of your group’s case assessment and intervention plan that you strongly agreed or disagreed with?

While putting together my slides I decided to take the time to find articles about what it means to engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate. From what I read in each of these articles I put a definition on each of my slides to remind me what it was I would do in each of these steps. By doing this it also helped remind the others what each step specifically means. I am the type of person that must write out definitions and questions to make sure I am staying on task.
