Texas Health Harris Methodist-Cleburne is located in Cleburne, Texas. It is part of the Texas Health Resource, a nonprofit hospital. Through this case study we will see why Texas Health is the top performers in the county on the surgical care process of care measures (Core) or Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP). Also, known as “core measures”. The four clinical areas under the core measures are: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care. The case study focuses on the Texas Health’s achievement in providing recommended treatment related to surgical care. The hospital has relied on concurrent review, changes to care processes, and preprinted order sets to improve (Lashbrook, A. 2009).
