smartphones the bargaining power of buyer is very high, customers can choose from a wide range of similar products from difference companies whom all use the google android system (IDC, 2015) .In the business to business market where Samsung suppliers items like semiconductors the buyer power slow because Samsung is often the sole supplier of specific type of products (IC insights, 2015).
Bargaining power of Suppliers
There is almost no threat to Samsung from the bargaining power of suppliers as it is almost completely vertically integrated and supplies its own raw materials especially for its mobile phones (Worstall, 2013). Samsung also serves as a supplier to some of its major competitors including Apple & Sony so in this aspect it has the power to influence the supply of its competitors (IC insights, 2015).
The smart phone industry which is the major source of revenue for Samsung has a high degree of rivalry with many competitors with similar products and resources. The market for smart phones has slowed in growth since its boom, so there is intense pressure to obtain customers a battle which Samsung appear to be losing based on recent trends (Etherington, 2015) (Gilbert, 2015).
