Misfeasance is doing a required and lawful task or job in an unacceptable, inappropriate, or unprofessional manner. Officer Johnny is not committing a crime by working the second job; however, the wearing of the department’s uniform and equipment constitutes a misfeasance. When thinking of the criminal justice system, it is often broken down into three subcategories; law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Initial contact with the system usually occurs with law enforcement, and if necessary continues throughout the court system and into corrections such as jail, prison, probation, etc. All of these parts of the system face their own challenges when it comes to acting ethically, and establishing a moral code that aligns with the requirements of the job. In recent decades with the progression in technology, such as cell-phone video, and popularization of the media, the ethical dilemmas of the criminal justice system have become a topic of particular interest. This is especially true of concerned citizens of the…

So, I went to bed dreaming about the raccoon spy, but early in the morning, I was woken up by the chief screaming into my walkie-talkie, “Some citizens has called again about hearing grunts and gunshots in the warehouses across the same street, Rain Blvd., and for you Detective Williams, you better under arrest the raccoon spy, or you’ll be fired for the DPD!” So, this one sentence forced me to change my whole way of thinking for my job, and this is the only field that I’m great at. While I was running, I noticed that I was slowing down, and I was fine with that, but time, somehow, was going faster, so I had to decide to arrest the man who could help us, or let it be, and just wait to see what happens. Unluckily, I had to keep on running to my car, because right now, I am barely making enough money to feed two mouths in a home. I drove as fast as I can to get there to finish arresting him, and getting it over with.…

Though to be specific we are looking for the light in criminal justice professionals to guarantee they act ethically. As said by Pollock, “Philosophers, religious scholars, biologists, psychologist, sociologist, and criminologists have all tried to explain why people do bad things. ”(Pollock), and still this is a question that needs an answer.…
