It was Founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman in 1964 (O'Reilly, 2014). It is the world’s largest supplier and manufacturer of athletic shoes, apparel and other sports equipment (Statista,2016) with a 27.8% worldwide market share of sports goods and sportswear companies in 2014 (Alqararah,2014). It yearly revenue exceeded 30$ billion dollars in 2015 (Finance, 2016). Nike Produces more than 500,000 Products including products under other brand names like Converse and Hurley International (Alqararah,2014). Nike manufactures globally in 42 countries other than USA through independent contract manufacturers operating in over 655 factories which employ over a million worker by 2015 (Nike Inc.,2016).

It included new recommendations for maximum working hours (60 hours/week), a ban on forced labor, and minimum wages, environmental, and safety standards (Beder,2002). However, there was no visible improvement in the working conditions, and many reports documented Nike’s labor practices such as by Vietnam Labor Watch in New York, Community Aid Abroad in Sydney, Hong Kong Christian Industrial Committee in Hong Kong, & CBS News.
