Your discussion was a great synopsis of Merideth’s presentation and was easy to understand. I appreciated that she showed us how to calculate smoking index because prior to reading her presentation I did not know that smoking index greater than 300 is considered a heavy smoker. I am glad that she included pulmonary rehabilitation program as a goal for Sue’s care plan because it is very important for us to provide her physical and educational support as much as we can along with her medical treatments. It is amazing to know that quit smoking in the 30, 40 and 50’s can increase the patient’s life expectancy from 6 to 10 years. I can imagine that it is hard to quit smoking as some people may have nicotine withdrawal symptoms, but the end result
