Business portfolio Facebook task.
1. Summary of the storyline.
The social network movie is about a young man who is attending Harvard and starts a social media revolution when he creates a website called Facebook. This young man, Mark Zuckerberg, was highly intelligent and managed to hack his way through the Harvard’s systems. He does this when he is angry and upset about his recent breakup and creates a page (Facemash.com) where he rates girls on their looks. He then manages to crash the whole Harvard system. This act of disloyalty to his university leads him to two twin brothers who need his help to code a new network. Mark agreed to this but soon after came up with an improved version of his own.

It is vital for facebook to have the correct stratagies so that they do not lose customers to competitors and they provide a service that is not substitutable.
A. Marketing strategy/ planning.
• A marketing strategy is that that considers all aspects needed to reach the consumer and doing this effectively, resourcefully and within the given budget.
• Facebook has successfully reached the first given aim which was to become a big social network development in society but the aim today is to become a necessity in people’s lives lice telephone connection etc.
• ”Founded in 2004, Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more OPEN and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.” Is facebooks current aim.
• The marketing strategy needs to investigate the environments involved in the business especialy the macro market like social, political, economic, cultural and technological trends.
• The market strategy needs to do a market audit where they analyse and decide on what available resources there are and what position in the maret they …show more content…
Vision statement Represents the dream of the business. It inspires and reminds the stake holders what is seen as important.
