Overview We will be operating on behalf of Krones AG, a German industrial machinery manufacturing company. The goal of our project is to communicate with Karlovacka Pivovara to offer our filling machinery to improve their operations to our mutual benefit. The first step in this process will be to gather information in order to describe our company, our product, our prospect, and to give an overview of the industry and other possible competitors.

Subsidiaries of Krones span the globe with locations in Kenya, India, Hong Kong, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Brazil (“Krones AG Company Profile, SWOT Analysis & Financial Analysis”, 2014). It is a very research heavy company also and has over 3150 patents and models registered to its name (“Krones AG Company Profile, SWOT Analysis & Financial Analysis”, 2014). A lot of resources are put into research and development, which makes Krones able to maintain its position as leader in this industry. For example, Krones spent 132 million EUR on research and development in 2013 alone (“Krones AG Company Profile, SWOT Analysis & Financial Analysis”, 2014). This characteristic also is beneficial for other companies that need bottling and packaging services because they do not have to spend so many resources on researching and developing good production strategies but can instead rely on Krones in this matter. It is with this in mind that we will meet with Karlovacka Pivovara in order to demonstrate the potential benefits our products could be offering to their organization and how we could work together to our mutual …show more content…
These competitors include Avery Dennison Corporation, Bemis Company Inc., Dover Corporation, Ishida Company Ltd., Nichiro Kogyo Company Ltd., and Rheinmetall AG (Pederson, 2011). The majority of these competitors do not offer specific beer filling technologies like Krones does, so this makes Krones look more appealing to a beer company like Karlovacka Pivovara. The three dominant types of packaging beer in Croatia are glass (70%), PET bottles (20%), and cans (10%) ("Beer in Croatia", 2014). Krones has well-developed technology for each of these packaging materials, so Krones can basically fulfill all filling and packaging needs of Karlovacka Pivovara.
