Kelly Puzzle Interview Paper

RN, BSN: Kelly Grizzle I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelly Grizzle. She works at Habersham County Medical Center in Demorest, GA as a RN, BSN. The biggest reason she chose this profession was to help people. When she was a child, she was born with aortic stenosis. Therefore, she was in and out of hospitals all her life growing up. She ended up having to have two heart surgeries. Kelly remembers her second surgery that she had at the age of 14. It was at Egleston, Children’s Hospital in Atlanta in 1991. She had to have her aortic valve replaced with a mechanical one. She was in ICU for one week. She grew close to the nurses and decided she wanted to be just like them, an RN. Kelly revealed that one of the biggest benefits of her profession is that she can work almost anywhere. Jobs can range from hospital, doctors office, home health, or to health departments. She also stated that in a hospital setting, you only have to work 3 days per week, which gives you flexibility. There are multiple curriculums that must be satisfied in order to become and RN. According to Gordon State College, you must meet the core curriculum first, then the nursing curriculum in order to graduate. It will not be easy and as Kelly mentioned earlier and my second interviewee Brandy Moore also said, be 100% sure this profession is what I want to do. Both interviewees had just about the same answers except their personal stories were different on how they choose this profession. It can be a great career field or it can be a waste of money if you go all the way through and then change your mind. It has some positives and negatives, just as any other job does. I can choose where I want to work and whom I want to work with. I want to help others and put others in front of myself just as Kelly did and still
