Case Study Of Hardywood's Challenges

Great presentation. Good overview of Hardywood's challenges (limited space for events and brewing, ABC laws, and bottle limits) and how important the venue is to the Hardywood brand experience.

Because Hardywood has already broken ground on a new location at West Creek to address their space challenges, it should have been mentioned in your presentation/written assignment as a part of their current situation and explaining why the new venue layout was still needed.

For the Market Map, it wasn’t clear why breweries that were closer like Arden Craft Ales, Triple Crossings, Isley Brewing), Center of the Universe (Ashland) or Lickinghole Brewery (Goochland) were not included, but Strange Hills in Charlottesville was. It’s important to address

The culling of white pine on Blackstone Lake began in the late 1880s with the arrival of the Conger Lumber Company. Once the commercially viable pine had been fully exploited the process of stripping hemlock trees of their bark for the leather tanning process began on the lake in the spring of 1900. At the time the Rankin Bros., headed by James Rankin on Blackstone, were supplying the Conger Lumber Co. Another sawmill operator in the region was the Mitchell Lumber Co. set up by Thomas Mitchell in 1898 (later this would become in the 1920s the Mitchell-McDonald Lumber Co.). The mill was located west of the CPR railway, on the now Blackstone-Crane Road, producing railway ties and shims from wood obtained south of their mill, from Second and Third Lakes all the way down to Blackstone and…

Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier I, support the majority opinion on the case of “T.M. v. State of Florida” What influenced my decision the most in this case was that the students couldn’t be trusted with keeping the identities of the interviewees a secret in the article, and it was proven that the identities of the children were not hidden. The topics in the article were mainly about teen pregnancy and the criticism of the parents, which can be controversial and very distracting in an environment such as school. The principal of the school, began to notice the identities were not concealed well. Having to meet a deadline, there was no possible way the students would be able to revise the paper and rewrite the articles for the names to be unidentifiable,…

Introduction Hockley Valley Brewing (Hockley) has come to the conclusion that light beers are more popular than dark ones. Since its dark beers have always been its flagship product, Hockley has to decide whether to change its marketing mix to adapt to the latest market trend, or to keep steady in its current course. Their proposed solution, should they decide to follow through with it, is a new light lager called Hockley Classic. SWOT Analysis Strengths: • Have a talented brewer, who is from a German family with lots of experience in brewing.…

"The NAACP’s Thurgood Marshall knew that, in the white supremacist Southern courts of the mid-20th Century, any black man accused of sexually violating a white woman was certain to be found guilty. "(Cerf) As a result this is what happened in the case of the Groveland four. This statement can be supported, according to the multiple killings of black men in the South of North America. Many individuals (especially white people) claimed that any black man who violated a white woman, that black man would have severe consequences and would be given a punishment, such as going to prison, or even possibility of death.…

Rawlings Sporting Goods is one of the most respected sporting goods manufacturers in the world. They attribute a lot of their success to their marketing department and their one-of-a-kind products. The overall rhetorical situation discussed in the special event "Question Bridge: Black Males" was the problems associated in the young black male communities and how certain scenarios are not that different, racial wise. This does sound broad, but it does fit the topic appropriately since the volunteers associated with the documentary touched on a lot of topics pertaining to young black male communities like finding that special someone, discussing how drugs and smoking is viewed as, generations begin to differ in appeals, etc. One of the questions brought up in the documentary was "In this era, in this society, do you consider yourself to be free as a human being?" A very interesting question since there will be many appeals towards it;…

Lewis stood trial for Benson's attempted murder, kidnapping, rape, and assault. However, like before, he attempted to continue his legal winning streak as he feigned innocence and injury from permanent scars on the left side of his face, and claimed partial blindness in his eye and deafness in his ear, as well as limping in the courtroom--though this was likely him faking, as he showed a lot of energy when yelling at Benson. While he was able to force Benson to relive her memories as well as tormenting her throughout the trial, the jury acquitted him on the attempted murder and rape charges, but it convicted him of the charges of kidnapping and assault of a police officer, and he was sentenced to imprisonment for 25 years to life. Before he…

First, in order to acquaint New Belgium products into new markets, the company should employ a specialized sales team that will go into local bars and pubs and buy New Belgium products for locals. This will begin the grassroots campaign which New Belgium has thrived upon throughout their history. In order to keep the company culture in the new eastern brewery, the co-founders Jeff and Kim Lebesch should be sent to head the new branch. Because the culture and values are already entrenched in the Colorado brewery, the New Belgium culture would be more easily maintained there without the founders being present. Then the founders could personally oversee the implementation of the culture in the new…

The third best presentation was Teenage Drinking and Driving by Hayley Breitschuh. She made it very personal by adding the story about the crash at Stoney Creek. It was in the logos style because it gave more facts than stories and it was in the Rogerian style because the other side of the argument is completely wrong. A counter argument would be that teen drunk driving is okay because it was their decision to drink in the first place. The audience it would be for is teenagers and their…

On August 22, I volunteered at the first ever Mississippi Book Festival. While I was a room monitor I interacted with many different people as I lead them to their seats, and later after the festival was over I joined the rest of the volunteer team to help clean up. The festival was a one-day event held at the state capitol featuring many different artist and authors speaking on book panels, live music performances, and outdoor food and book vendors. The Festival was meant to “celebrate the joys of reading and the authors who bring our culture to the page” and to bring awareness to Mississippi’s strong literary history.…
