Guillermo is an 8-year-old Hispanic boy that don’t have any family in the United States so a major obstacle in engaging this client is getting him to open up and trust the social worker. Guillermo trust may be altered because the main person in his life that he trusts, his father, he just witnessed hurting his mother. This becomes an obstacle because Guillermo may feel that if he speaks up on the situation he may say something to get his father in more trouble or he even worse his father may hurt him next.
Guillermo may not engage with the social worker because he and his family immigrated to the United States and Guillermo may believe that they might have to go back to where they immigrated from. Also, since Guillermo is placed with a foster
