I believe that Cowboys Bar was liable for hiring an employee who was involved in several fights at the bar parking lot as a patron. Cowboys should have known that Trujillo was involve in fights and he was unfit to be employed as a doorman.

Cowboys was liable for Trujillo’s incident with Medina, since he was on call on the premises at Cowboys' Assistant Door Manager request, wearing a jacket with the bar logo. Cowboys bar was also negligent for failure to protect their clients from injury caused by their own employees and to comply with its duty to provide safe premises for its patrons.

Some of the procedures that we can put in place to help the company avoid liability for negligent hiring and retention are:
