Visiting the Tomb of King Nanyue is like traveling back in time a thousand years
Introduction: Nat is from America, but considered a local already by most around him. Nat admires the foreign art that has been transported along the Maritime Silk Road centuries ago while visiting the museum of the Tomb of King Nanyue.
After graduating 7 years ago from his university in Los Angeles, Nat came to Guangzhou because of a work opportunity. He has experienced a totally new life in this city with its many different cultures, customs, foods and languages. Nat enjoys his life and has a thriving social circle here, and since he knows Guangzhou as well as any native, his expat and Chinese friends all considered him a local. Nat loves to wander around Guangzhou, to follow its winding rivers and see the stories that live on the faces of old homes and historical monuments. The experience that impressed Nat the most in Guangzhou happened while he walked by San Yuanli. Here he saw the San Yuanli War Memorial Hall and learned about the battle of San Yuanli, where well-equipped British troops were routed by a villager uprising during the first Opium war.
