2.1 Nanocomposite and nanofiller Composite is the combination of two or more different materials that are mixed together in order to bring out the best properties of both material. A nanocomposite is the composite which exhibit at least one dimension of the nanoparticle size material [17]. The nanoparticle size is mainly used as the disperse particle system to enhance or improve the properties of the composite material such as strength, conductivity and wear resistance. The main reason for using nanoparticle is because of their large surface to volume which increases the filler- matrix interaction, thus increasing the effect of the material properties [18].

According to Yang et al, nanocomposites have been shown to afford remarkable property enhancements compared to the conventional composite. Polymer nanocomposites with layered silicates and carbon nanotubes have attracted great interest for the improvement of structural properties and development of new materials with different functional properties [19]. Latex compounding or latex blending is one of the mixing methods which incorporate the rubber latex with aqueous dispersion of filler under certain condition. Latex particles with sizes approximately 50 nm, are uniformly stabilized in water. This condition facilitates the direct compounding of a suspension of nanoparticles in water with the polymer latex [36]. According to Gui et al. [9], latex compounding method was developed to solve the problem of incompatibility between the rubber and the filler in the rubber matrix of preparation starch/SBR composite and starch/ NR composites.
