You both make great point in regards to Mrs. Greenwoods care with the teach back method and cutting back little by little. I wonder what Mrs. Greenwood’s support system is at home or even if she has one. I wonder if the nurse has given her resources in order to join a group support system, maybe like an A.A. group. According to the Maine Center for disease control “women who have social support are more likely to succeed with quit attempts than those who do not” (Maine Center for Disease Control and prevention, 2017). I agree with you Kendra I also feel like the R.N. caring for Mrs. Greenwood needs to investigate further into Mrs. Greenwood’s situation and as to why she is not complying.
