Milton Wilson is recognized as one of the first African-Americans to pass the CPA exam and receive a PhD in Accounting. Wilson’s credentials allowed him to accomplish tremendous things for the black collegiate business world.

Wilson formed business schools at both Texas Southern University and Howard University. Not only did he form the business schools at Texas Southern & Howard, but he ensured that they were both accredited by the international ACCSB. Wilson was the first African American dean to receive ACCSB accreditation for an HBCU and the first dean to for two HBCU business schools. This was a phenomenal achievement for both universities’ because it is the most recognized form of accreditation a business school can earn.
