2.3 Effects of management style on Retronics
As the CEO of the Retronics, George is required to demonstrate strategic skill and vision to make sure the organisation can adapt to external forces and movement in the market. (Daughtry & Casselman 2009 pg. 36) It can be noted that George has not been successful in doing so as other firms have begun to take some of Retronics market share. Without strategic positioning and vision, George is unable to perfect the structure and system of Retronics adequately; this includes the production and administrative systems as well as the human system. Strategic positioning and correct alignment require firm decisions and trade-offs, as one person cannot fill every role. Executive decisions need to be made on who will be in charge of a particular area, with clear boundaries. This begins with definite boundaries between senior and middle management. George has shown he has failed to have clear boundaries causing staff issues and lack of direction and focus in his role, ultimately having a negative effect on the Retronics revenue. An effective CEO guides the execution without getting drawn into the day-to-day operations, which George has been unable to do. (Daughtry & Casselman 2009 pg. 37)
Conclusion

George needs to address his management style. It is having a negative effect on staff and Retronics as a whole. It is creating issues were there shouldn’t
