According to Dictionary.com, a mission statement is “an official document that sets out the goals, purpose, and work of an organization,” (Mission Statement, 2016). McKesson Corp. is a distributor of pharmaceuticals in the US, offering health and personal care products and solutions, as well as medical supplies to better improve hospitals ' patient care. McKesson 's mission statement reads “Our mission is to provide comprehensive pharmacy solutions that improve productivity, profitability and result in superior patient care and satisfaction,” (MissionStatements.com, n.d.).
Upon viewing McKesson 's “About Us” section of their website, we are able to see several sections that support their mission statement. First, they spend some time speaking directly about the impact that they make on their customers and the lives of their customer 's patients. McKesson works with thousands of operators who then supply their products to the end consumer, or patient. As a supplier to hospitals, doctors and clinics, it is important that these businesses feel that their partner is well established, but it also crucial that they share their values in helping their patients to obtain quality healthcare that improves their lives. One of the strongest quotes that supports this is “This is the difference we make in one minute. This is the difference we make every minute,” (About McKesson, n.d.).
