MHS Construction Trades Home Building
Motion by Mr. Bunkelman; support by Mrs. Mentel to approve the request for Monroe High School’s Construction Trades program to build a home next school year on the former South Monroe Townsite School property.
Discussion: Mr. Bunkelman suggested holding a fair that involves local construction trades businesses to see what type of input and/or assistance they can provide and offer them a partnership with Monroe Public Schools to help move this program forward.
Vote: Motion carried by a 6-0 roll call vote.

Everly congratulated Monroe High School on their production of “The Little Shop of Horrors”; their performance was impeccable.

Mrs. Everly, Mrs. Mentel, and Mr. Bunkelman attended the Legislative Breakfast at the MCISD this past Monday. Mrs. Everly was able to have conversations with legislators about school funding, Mrs. Mentel spoke about charter schools, and Mr. Bunkelman spoke about the recent senate bills on concealed weapons in schools.

On November 18, the Ward Olson Turkey Trot will be held at Custer School. The event is open to the entire Monroe community with many frozen turkeys as prizes!

Mrs. Everly congratulated the Transportation Department and First Vehicle for being awarded a Certificate of Excellence for achieving a pass rate of 95% or higher for school bus safety inspections.

The Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition is sponsoring the annual drug summit at Monroe County Community College on December 5. That evening, we will host a communitywide open event at Monroe High School, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
